When Thor Roundy stopped by Access Salt Lake that day in 2015 (the space was called Holodeck at the time), he wasn't planning on joining a meeting that would kick start over $1 million in business over the next three years.

As Thor walked by the Bridge (a large conference room), he saw through the glass a few people he'd met before. They were meeting with a few more people he didn't know. He waved and was about to walk past, but then Joel Smith called him into the meeting.

Joel knew from past experience that Thor had the expertise to answer some questions that had come up during the meeting. Thor is an attorney specializing in real estate law, contracts, and business law, among other things. Answers to a few questions led to further discussion, which led to several new connections. The rest, as they say, is history.

In the three years since that "chance" meeting (when you're in the right place at the right time by choice, is it really chance?), Thor has done a lot of business with the people he met for the first time in that conference room. The conversations and relationships started that day have resulted in over $1 million worth of anticipated revenue from transactions either completed or currently in progress. For example:

  • He has drafted the documentation to set up over 20 new companies.
  • He has written over 40 contracts.
  • His firm, EVN Law, has been hired in several litigation matters.
  • His title insurance company has handled at least 5 real estate transactions.

Additionally, Thor's frequent presence and participation at Access Salt Lake events has led to many invitations to speak to groups on legal and real estate topics.

Of course, it's not just attorneys who can run into people at Access who need their expertise. Bump into Thor and others at one of the Tuesday networking events at Access Salt Lake. And then stop by often.

You never know where a "chance" meeting might lead.
